Charla Guillory, 65, had lived what she thought to be a full life. She had 2 sons, one who had gone on to be a highly successful executive and one – Jason, who at age 38, still lived with her.

As Charla’s health started to deteriorate more, she noticed that Jason was becoming more verbally and now physically, abusive.

Charla was afraid to notify authorities or other family members because Jason, on more that one occasion, had threatened to smother her in her sleep or cause other severe bodily harm. Charla felt lost, afraid and trapped and had no idea where to turn. This case ended in severe beatings, suffering and finally incarceration of Charla’s son, Jason.

Sadly, thousands of seniors find themselves victims at the hands of their own family members. Many times, this includes a spouse or a child.
